Charts from your own figures
Word can't draw this. Your renewal report can.
Enter the figures once in the wizard and the report draws its own charts from them. It opens with an at-a-glance page so the client sees the answer before the detail. Every change on last year shows in colour, up or down. No spreadsheet to build and no images to paste in.
In the renewal report:
- At a glance tiles with the change on last year
- Premium by class, last year and this year
- Where your premium goes
- How the market responded

Before you ask
Questions about the renewal report.
- Is this compliant with the NIBA Code?
- It is built around the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice 2022: renewal timing, remuneration disclosure in dollars for individuals and small businesses, uninsured risks and complaints handling all have their own sections. Compliance depends on what you write in it and when you send it, so check it against your own procedures.
- How far before expiry should a renewal report go out?
- The Code expects brokers to give renewal information to retail and small business clients at least 14 days before the policy expires. Many brokerages aim for 30 days on commercial accounts to leave time for questions and remarketing.
- Which duty of disclosure applies at renewal?
- For consumer insurance contracts the client has a duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation (s20B of the Insurance Contracts Act). For other contracts the duty of disclosure in s21 applies. The template has wording for each, so keep the one that fits the client.
- Do I need to show remuneration in dollars?
- For individuals and small businesses the Code asks for your commission and fees to be disclosed in dollars where you can. The template has a remuneration table with dollar amounts and a line for any broker fee.
- Does it cover ESL, GST and stamp duty?
- Yes. The premium summary has lines for base premium, emergency or fire services levy where it applies, GST, stamp duty and your broker fee. Rates differ by state and class, so enter the figures from the insurer's renewal terms.
- Does it draw the charts for me?
- Yes. The report draws its own charts from the figures you enter in the wizard, so there's nothing to build in a spreadsheet and nothing to paste in. They print in the PDF next to the tables they come from. Word can't do that on its own.
- Can I add my own logo?
- Yes, for free. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP and it goes on the cover and every page of the PDF. Your colours, fonts and licence details come with the 14-day free trial.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Fill it in, add your own logo, edit it and download the PDF without an account. The charts are drawn for you and you can email the PDF to yourself. The free PDF carries a small Prepared with Coverbound footer. A 14-day free trial removes the footer, adds your colours, fonts and AFSL details and lets you save the document for next year. No card needed.
- Who is responsible for the advice in the document?
- These templates are a starting point, not legal or compliance advice. You remain responsible for the advice and documents you give under your AFSL or as an authorised representative. Check each document against your licensee's requirements before you send it.
