Risk briefs

Know the risk before the first meeting.

Give coverbound a prospect's name and website. It reads their site, checks the ABN or Companies House register and any files you hold. You get a working brief: what the business does, the risks worth discussing, the questions to ask and the documents to request. Every fact links to the page it came from. The research that took an afternoon is ready before your coffee.

A broker starts a risk brief on Kestrel Engineering, a prospect. coverbound reads the company's website and the ABN register, pulls out the company facts and checks each one against its source. The brief lists four risks to discuss, from a single CNC line supplying two mining customers to customer drawings held on a shared portal. The broker opens the priority risk and sees the quote from the website behind it with three questions for the first meeting, confirms it and the brief is emailed to the broker.

Start with a name and a website

Open a risk brief from AI Tools or a client's page. Add what you have and pick the market. It runs in the background and emails you when it's ready.

  • A website, files you already hold, extra links or a short description
  • ABN Lookup in Australia, Companies House in the UK
  • Tell it what the meeting is about and it leans that way
  • Works for prospects as well as clients you already act for

Risks worth talking about, with the evidence

Each risk starts from something the business says about itself. It sets out what could go wrong, the controls to check, the insurance to discuss and what to ask.

  • Ranked Priority, Explore or Monitor
  • Every fact links to the page or file it came from
  • Sector playbooks for manufacturing, construction, property, logistics and professional services
  • Plus the documents to request and the people to bring into the meeting

Your judgement goes on the record

Confirm a risk, correct it or dismiss it. Add notes and turn any question into a follow-up in My Work. Refresh the brief later and your reviews carry forward.

  • Corrections override what the website said
  • Dismissed risks stay out of the next version and the email
  • Each refresh is a new version. Earlier ones are kept.

Start the total cost of risk conversation

An optional worksheet splits the cost of risk into premiums, retained losses, prevention and administration. Fill in what the client tells you. It adds up what's known.

  • Unknown amounts stay blank, never guessed
  • Each figure is marked documented or estimated
  • Kept with the brief for the next meeting

Research you can stand behind

  • Every fact quotes its source. Quotes are checked word for word, then a second check rejects anything the sources don't support.
  • It never invents premiums, sums insured, loss figures or scores. Unknowns are listed as unknowns.
  • If it can't tell which company you mean, it stops and asks you.
  • It reads the public website only. No logins, no paywalls.
  • It's a brief for you, not advice for the client. The advice stays yours.

Before you ask

Questions about risk briefs.

What do I need to start a brief?
The business name, the market and at least one source: a website, a file you hold, a link or a short description of the business.
Can I use documents instead of a website?
Yes. Pick up to ten files already on the client, such as last year's schedule or a proposal form.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
Every fact links to its source so you can check it. Correct or dismiss anything that isn't right. Your corrections are used when the brief is refreshed.
Does it give the client advice?
No. The brief is for you. It suggests questions and topics. It never says what cover the client needs.
How many can we run?
Up to 20 completed briefs a month per brokerage, included in your plan. A refresh counts as one. A failed brief doesn't.
