Submissions and loss runs
Submissions underwriters can say yes to.
coverbound checks you have what the underwriter needs, reads the loss runs and drafts the submission around your client's own figures. You check every word and send it from your own email.

1 gap to fill Import loss run
Know what's missing before you start
Prepare submission checks everything the underwriter will ask for. Nothing blocks you. Fill a gap now or later in the editor.
- The client's answers, with Ask client for anything they haven't answered
- Five years of claims history, year by year
- Gaps in the schedule, each one a click away
- Up to 20 files to attach for underwriters

Loss runs read for you
Drop in the insurer's loss run or let coverbound find it in the client's files. Every claim is checked against the page it came from before it's shown.
- PDF, Excel, CSV or Word. Scanned copies are fine.
- The loss run beside the claims, with each claim's row highlighted
- Claims already on file are matched, so nothing is counted twice
- Anything not found on the page is set aside as Could not verify
- A year is Nil only when the loss run or the client says so
Claims commentary
Underwriting submission · Brightco
claims.count claims in five years, with claims.total_incurred incurred. The largest was water damage in the roaster room in 2022. [Broker to confirm: the pipework replaced since]
The words drafted. The figures from the file.
Write with AI drafts the presentation of the risk, the claims commentary and risk management. It answers common underwriter questions from the client's answers.
- Every figure is a merge field. The AI never types one.
- A missing fact becomes [Broker to confirm], never a guess
- It describes the risk. Words like "well managed" or "low risk" are refused.
- Each AI section is tinted until you accept it or rewrite it
- Underwriter questions by class of cover, for Australia and the UK

Sent from your mailbox. Chased from coverbound.
coverbound never emails an underwriter. It sends the submission to you to forward, then keeps track of where it went.
- Email it to me: the PDF, the files to attach and a covering note to start from
- Or download the PDF
- Record the markets and a copy of exactly what was sent is kept
- Each market's chase clock starts that day. A quiet market gets a chase after 10 days.
Step by step
From the client's answers to the market.
Your client answers once, by form or chat. Their answers fill the submission.
Import the insurer's loss run. Each claim is checked against its page, matched with claims on file and recorded by policy year.
See what's ready, create the submission and let AI draft the sections. Accept each one or rewrite it.
Record where it went. Replies land on the placement and quiet markets get a chase.
The quotes that come back sit side by side with the expiring policy. Each difference cites the wording and page number.
Built not to overstate the risk
- The AI describes the risk. It never recommends or speculates.
- No typed figures. Values, turnover and claim totals are merge fields.
- A missing fact is marked [Broker to confirm], never filled in.
- Nothing goes out with an AI section unaccepted or a note left in.
- Another market's terms can never reach an underwriter.
- Your brokerage's approval rules apply before it goes.

Found in the client's files
A loss run that arrives by email or upload is spotted and read on its own. It waits for your review.
Claims by policy year
Claims, paid, outstanding and incurred for each year, with Nil years shown. Ready for any document.
AU and UK templates
An underwriting submission for Australia. A market presentation for the UK with the fair presentation statement the Insurance Act 2015 requires.
Duplicates caught
A claim printed twice with different figures waits for you to tick the current one.
Your chase days
Set how long a market can stay quiet. One chase covers every insurer still holding it.
In your plan
Drafting a submission uses no credits. Loss runs up to 40 pages are read free.
Before you ask
Questions about submissions.
- Does coverbound email underwriters?
- No. It sends the submission to you with a covering note to start from. You forward it from your own email, so the relationship stays yours.
- Can it make up figures in the submission?
- No. Every amount is a merge field from the client's answers, the schedule or the claims history. Sections with typed figures or advice words are rejected.
- Which loss runs can it read?
- PDF, Excel, CSV or Word, scanned copies included. Up to 40 pages are read free. Longer ones use credits, only when you choose.
- What if a year had no claims?
- It's recorded as Nil only when the loss run says so or the client confirms it. Otherwise the year shows as missing.
- Which classes of cover does it know?
- Property, business interruption, liability, professional indemnity, management liability, motor, cyber and construction. Workers' compensation in Australia. Employers' liability in the UK.
