What sets the limit
We know of no law that sets a minimum public liability limit for a non-government school in Australia. The limit usually comes from the school's governing body and the people it deals with.
- Governing and system bodies
- A school system, diocese or association of independent schools may require set covers and limits. Check its requirements.
- Venues, camps and transport
- Camp operators, sports venues and councils often ask for public liability at a set limit. Check each booking or hire agreement.
- Community hirers
- Ask groups that hire the school's facilities to carry their own public liability.
